What is the Youth Service Team?
The Youth Service Team is a program sponsored by United Way of Laramie County to promote the involvement of youth in the human service community. It is designed to develop future leaders for this important component of our community.
Who may apply?
Laramie County youth between the ages of 16 and 19.
How long do members serve on the Youth Team?
The program runs from June through February.
How are members selected?
Members submit a short application by May 29, 2009. These applications are reviewed the by the United Way Youth Advisory Committee and they will notify selected applicants in early June. An orientation will be held in June, at the United Way of Laramie County Office, 6101 Yellowstone, Room 174. Selected participants and their parents will be invited.
How often and when does the Youth Team meet?
The Youth Team will visit specific Program Partners, agencies that receive funding from United Way of Laramie County, during the summer months. Dates and times will be discussed at orientation based on availability of participants. At least one meeting, typically one hour, will be held during the month of September to work on the details of the fundraising project. The meeting will involve selecting the program(s) to benefit from the fundraiser. The Thank You recognition event, end of the campaign, will be held in February
