

Peppers on the Plaza
Union Wireless Peppers on the Plaza, Cheyenne’s Chili Cook-Off will be held at the Cheyenne Depot on Saturday, June 13th and Sunday, June 14th, 2009. This will be the International Chili Society’s (ICS) Wyoming State Championship and the Chili Appreciate Society International’s (CASI) Cook-Off.
Call for Cooks and Volunteers
We are asking the community to show off their culinary talents and sign up for Cheyenne’s Chili Cook-Off, Peppers on the Plaza. Volunteers are also needed to help with family activities, the chili cook-off, judging and generally helping with the event. We are looking for over 100 volunteers for this event, and we need your help!

Cheyenne’s Chili Cook-Off
Cheyenne families can come and taste the chilies and salsas being entered into the competitions for $2 a person. Attendees will have the chance to taste some former regional, district and world chili winners’ chili. Families will also be able to enjoy an outstanding line-up of free entertainment on the Cheyenne Depot Plaza on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Free family activities will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with lots of children’s games! Families can also participate in the Chili Pepper Eating Contests and the Arm Wrestling Contests! There will also be a Mr. Hot Sauce and Miss Chili Pepper contest to be held on Saturday.
Union Wireless Peppers on the Plaza, Cheyenne’s Chili Cook-Off is a joint fund raising event for United Way of Laramie County, the Cheyenne Depot Museum and the Cheyenne Depot Museum Foundation. The City of Cheyenne and the Historic Plains Hotel are also providing support to this event. Union Wireless has generously sponsored this event and is extending an invitation to families to come to Cheyenne for this fun-filled event.
For everyone who likes hot stuff, the Union Wireless Peppers on the Plaza, Cheyenne’s Chili Cook-Off will provide all the “hot stuff” they can endure! We hope all of Cheyenne puts the weekend of June 12, 13 & 14 on their calendars to make the Depot a destination for the chili cook-off!

Accepting Applications for Youth Service Team
United Way of Laramie County is proud to announce the formation of their new Youth Service Team. The Youth Service Team will bring individuals, ages 16-19, together with the purpose of developing future leaders in the volunteering and the human service community throughout the summer and the fall.
