It is easy to look back over the last 21 months and see all the difficulties that have afflicted our lives. There seems to be no shortage of suffering, pain, loss, and grief. However, to quote Helen Keller, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.”

United Way of Laramie County supports more than twenty programs offered by a variety of nonprofit organizations throughout the county. We see first-hand the multitude of ways in which suffering is overcome on a regular basis because of the dedication and commitment of generous and dedicated people all throughout the region. This includes all of you who support us with your financial gifts to make this work possible.

United Way of Laramie County serves as a backbone organization in which we strive to build support across a spectrum of services enhancing education, sustaining good health, and building financial stability. We want to provide as many services as possible in the most efficient manner available. This requires due diligence in vetting organizations and programs to be sure attainable goals are set and appropriate benchmarks are established to evaluate progress along the way. This type of collaboration enables us to get the biggest bang for the buck. We always want to be good stewards of what has been entrusted to our care.

There are times I am simply overwhelmed by the generosity of people in our local community. The kindness and goodness of people in Laramie County shines brightly time and time again as they give of their time in volunteerism and their financial resources to support those in need. We are blessed beyond measure to be part of this caring community.

I wish to express my gratitude to all of you who have donated to our annual campaign. Your kindness fills me with immense hope for the success of our continued endeavors to build a stronger community. If you have not yet made your pledge this year, I invite you to do so. Giving has been made easy. Website donation link: Campaign – United Way of Laramie County
